After initial registration, parents are allocated an individual
account, to which the details of any children they subsequently
register, and all tests purchased, are linked.
One or more children may be registered and linked to your
account.
Tests may be purchased individually, or in groups.
After registration, your account can be accessed via the
unique Username and Password which we will allocate to you.
The names of any child/children registered will be displayed
on your account.
All tests purchased may only be completed once.
Parents are therefore requested NOT to share their Username
and Password information with anyone else, as this may lead
to others using the service for which you have paid.
Once a test has been paid for it may be accessed by clicking
on the name of the relevant child.
Each test is divided into sections, which will be shown on
the page.
Selecting one of these sections highlighted will take your
child into the test, downloading the questions to your pc
system.
All assessments have a total of 60 questions. The sections
are as follows:
| Maths: |
4 sections each with 15 questions |
|
| English: |
6 sections each with 10 questions |
|
| Science: |
6 sections each with 10 questions |
Questions appear in multi-choice format in colourful and
interesting design to maintain your child’s interest.
Only one question appears at a time on the full screen. This
is to develop concentration, and prevents children from rushing
ahead.
Questions are answered by clicking on the correct answer
(A to D) with the mouse.
For the statistical analysis of the results to be valid,
it is important to create controlled test conditions, ensuring
that each child has the same opportunity to answer the question.
For this reason the time available for your child to answer
each question is up to 180 seconds. The time available is
indicated by the green timeline at the bottom of the screen.
When only 10 seconds remain in which to answer the question,
a prompt will appear to remind your child to click on the
correct answer.
Once your child has completed the last question within the
section, the results are automatically sent you the Right2Learn
database for analysis.
Immediate feedback is given in the form of the number of
questions answered correctly, or incorrectly in what timeframes
they were answered.
The overall results are then displayed against the section
taken next to your child’s name.
You can then either choose one of the remaining sections
for your child to complete, or log off and return at a later
time to take them.
Please note that the tests are deliberately structured within
the sections to enable them to be taken on different days.
Each section should usually take between 15 to 20 minutes
to take.
It is strongly recommended that sections are taken on different
days, particularly with younger children, to avoid a child
possibly losing motivation by feeling under too much pressure
at one time.
Upon completion of all sections for a test, the statistical
analysis will be available to parents. This will show the
actual score gained by the child, and a regional and national
comparison. This will indicate the percentage of children
that your child scored the same as or more than in each test.
A personalised certificate with your child’s actual
results will also be made available for you to download and
print off.
